Tradition

The Rotary Youth Camp has a long and proud history. In the 1920’s, Robert Gees, a dedicated Rotary Club member, came up with the idea to create a recreational camp for the youth of Kansas City and the city’s surrounding areas. Over the years, the camp has evolved into a city-wide effort to educate the city’s youth on the value of free enterprise, business management, entrepreneurship, and business ethics. Although the Camp Enterprise has moved from Lake Jacomo to UMKC, these values will remain the foundation of our great camp experience.
